José Geraldo Gouvêa


JOSÉ GERALDO GOUVÊA was born in 1973 in Cataguases, State of Minas Gerais. He is a poet, blogger, and fiction writer. He majored in History in 1997 and taught the subject for six years, later earning an MBA in Sustainable Development.

His literary works include poetry, short stories, novellas, novels, and chronicles. He published his first novel in 2011, entitled Praia do Sossego [Peaceful Beach].

He has also written for children, especially inspired by his older daughter, who likes to listen to different bedtime stories every night.

He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish and has read many classics from British, American, and Hispanic literature. Also in 2011, he completed the Portuguese translation of William Hope Hodgson's “The House on the Borderland.”
